Higher Education Sponsorship Program

In Uganda, the path to higher education is fraught with obstacles, especially for orphaned and underprivileged students. Education is a fundamental right, yet for many, it remains an elusive dream. At Sustainable Development Community e. V. , we are dedicated to turning that dream into a reality through our Highschool Sponsorship Program.

What your sponsorship covers

Higher education in Uganda comes with significant financial challenges. Tuition fees alone range from UGX 2,000,000 (€ 876) to UGX 6,000,000 (€ 1,920) per year, depending on the course and institution. However, tuition is just one part of the cost. Your sponsorship also helps cover essential expenses such as accommodation, books, meals, transportation, and health insurance ensuring that students can focus on their education without financial barriers.

Every student we sponsor is a testament to resilience and hope. These young individuals come from difficult backgrounds, often losing their parents or growing up in extreme poverty. Yet, they possess the determination and potential to achieve great things if given the opportunity.

Tuition Fees: UGX 2,000,000 – UGX 6,000,000 (€ 876 – € 1,920)

Accommodation: UGX 200,000 – UGX 1,400,000 (€ 88 – € 340)

Meals: UGX 200,000 – UGX 1,200,000 (€ 88 – € 288)

Transportation: UGX 100,000 – UGX 300,000 (€ 44 – € 132)

Books & Supplies: UGX 150,000 – UGX 300,000 (€ 66 – € 132)

Health Insurance: UGX 200,000 – UGX 500,000 (€ 88 – € 220)

Personal and Miscellaneous Expenses: UGX 500,000 (€ 220) per year

All of this combined means that even the most basic university education can cost a student between UGX 3,650,000 (€ 876) and UGX 10,000,000 (€ 2,400) annually.

How You Can Help

We invite you to join us in this life-changing mission. By sponsoring a student, you can provide them with more than just an education—you can provide them with hope, stability, and a future. You can choose to sponsor a student fully, covering all expenses for the year, or partially, contributing towards their tuition or other costs such as meals, accommodation, or health insurance.

A full sponsorship ranges from € 876 to € 2,400 per year, depending on the student’s needs and the program they are enrolled in. A partial sponsorship can start as low as € 44 per month, which can help cover essentials like transportation or books.

How to Become a Sponsor

Step 1:

Choose a Student to Sponsor

We carefully match you with a student based on your preferences, or you can select one from our list of eager young adults. Each student has a unique background and aspirations, and your support will play a pivotal role in their educational journey.

Step 2:

Set Up Your Monthly Sponsorship

With a manageable monthly donation, you provide your sponsored student with access to higher education, necessary academic materials, and mentorship opportunities. We ensure that every euro you donate is utilized effectively to foster their success and future prospects.

Step 3:

Build a Personal Connection

We believe that sponsorship transcends financial support—it’s about forming a lasting relationship. That’s why we facilitate direct and open communication between you and your sponsored student, enriching the experience for both.

Step 4:

Witness the Transformation

Your sponsorship does more than support one student; it elevates communities by empowering educated individuals who are prepared to lead and innovate. You become part of a vital movement of hope, empowerment, and sustainable development.

Why Regular Support Matters?

Regular financial support provides stability for these students, ensuring that they can focus on their studies rather than worrying about how they will pay for their next meal or medical bill. Your ongoing commitment allows us to plan ahead, sponsor more students, and truly make a lasting difference in their lives.

When you support a student, you are investing in their future and in the future of Uganda. Every graduate is a building block in creating a stronger, more resilient society.

Help us bridge the gap between potential and opportunity. Help us give the gift of education to those who need it the most.
