Anya !!!

Anya has a disability (cerebral palsy) since childhood.  She was her entire life “imprisoned” at home, since it was a big problem for her to leave her house without help. 

While staying in a sanatorium for rehabilitation, Anya met a girl who is an athlete in Invasport in the city of Pavlograd. They became very good friends, and her coach told Anya about our partner organization in Chernihiv, since this athlete had already come to the “Strong in Spirit” Spartakiad organized by the NGO Integration (there were 45 participants from all regions of Ukraine, as well as participants from Belarus). Anya wrote me in a private message; I phoned her and invited her to come to our Rehabilitation Center. 

On September 12, 2018, Anya and her mother came to NGO “Integration”, and this meeting turned out to be vital for them: the communication, help and support we gave her turned out to be a magic wand that Anya needed for all her life. 

From the first trainings we explained that only diligence and daily hard work can give results, and so we started the training process: every day, five times a week, working fingers to the bone. First, exercise therapy on the Dikul’s system, foot stimulation, exercises on the Motomed simulator, massaging. After two months of hard training, Anya gained an ability to stand up without help and soon started her work out on a vertical Orbitrek simulator (imitation of ski-walking). Finally she walked the first 30 meters with the assistance of a rehabilitation therapist! 

It seems that half a year has passed like 6 days, but the result that has been achieved is the shoulder-to-shoulder work of the rehabilitation therapist and the patient. This is the first but huge step towards active life and rehabilitation, in order to gain an opportunity to walk without assistance.

Story of Anya in Russian:

Анечка является инвалидом детства (ДЦП). Все время сидела дома так как практически без посторонней помощи выйти из дома, это очень большая проблема. Будучи в санатории на реабилитации, познакомилась с девушкой – спортсменкой, и они очень сдружились, девушка занимается в инваспорте в городе Павлоград. Тренер показал нашу организацию в Чернигове, так как его спортсмены уже приезжали на Спартакиаду «Сильные духом», которую организовала ГО «Интеграция», было 45 участников со всех регионов Украины, а также участники из Беларуси. Аня написала мне в личные сообщения, я скинул номер телефона, мы созвонились и пригласили прийти в наш Центр. И вот 12 сентября 2018 года Аня с мамой приехали в ГО «Интеграция», и получилось так, что эта встреча оказалась решающей, и общение, помощь и поддержка оказались той палочкой – выручалочкой которая и нужна была Ане для полноценной жизни. С первых тренировок мы объяснили, что только усердие и каждодневный труд могут дать результат, и тренировки начались. Каждый день по пять раз в неделю, до седьмого пота. Сначала занятия ЛФК на системе Дикуля, стимуляция стоп, занятия на тренажере Мотомед, массаж. И вот через два месяца упорных тренировок Аня самостоятельно смогла встать и заниматься на вертикальном тренажере Орбитрек (имитация ходьбы на лыжах), в результате чего прошла с помощью реабилитолога первые 30 метров. Кажется, полгода прошли как 6 дней, но тот результат, который достигнут, это совместный труд реабилитолога и пациента, это первый шаг к активной жизни и реабилитации, для того что бы в будущем ходить без посторонней помощи.
